Zones are determined by assessing the expected height of a flood that has a 1% chance of occurring in any given year (the “100-year-flood”), as well as considering potential wave heights, the distance from the nearest water body and the ground elevation. See How to Access and Read your Flood Insurance Rate Map for more information.įlood Zone: A geographic area on a flood map that indicates flood risk. Click here for the FEMA website.įlood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM): A Flood Insurance Rate Map, also known as a flood map, is a document (paper or digital) that delineates the boundaries of flood zones. It is tasked with responding to, planning for, recovering from, and mitigating man-made and natural disasters. Having this document on file can also help your community earn a flood insurance rate discount for you and other policyholders in your community.įederal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA): The Agency that operates the National Flood Insurance Program, located in the Department of Homeland Security. However, it is necessary to obtain this document to ensure that your flood insurance rates are accurate and not over-priced. If you have to obtain an elevation certificate, this will cost at least $300 in most cases, and up to $2,000 in some cases. Combining the elevation certificate with the property survey may save money and will allow for you to ensure you are receiving an accurate flood insurance rate. If you are purchasing a new home, consider asking for an elevation certificate as part of the property survey. Some will offer recommendations on the best surveyors to hire. If not, talk to your insurance agent or your community floodplain manager for help on how to get an elevation certificate. Talk to your community floodplain manager or building official to find out if your locality has up-to-date information on the elevation of your structure. It may also help your community earn a discount on flood insurance for all policyholders (see information about the Community Rating System here).Ĭlick here for more information on elevation certificates.įor more general information, see this Homeowner’s Guide to Elevation Certificates from FEMA.įor a blank, fillable NFIP elevation certificate and instructions from FEMA, click here. Without an elevation certificate, you may pay more than you actually owe therefore, obtaining an elevation certificate is very important. If your lowest floor is elevated above base flood elevation, your rates will likely be low. If your lowest floor is a basement below ground, you are likely well below base flood elevation and your rates will be high. If your property is located in an A- or V-zone and you have been paying subsidized rates, you will need an elevation certificate to determine your actual flood risk and ensure that FEMA charges you fairly and accurately as your subsidies are phased out. If the land that your structure sits on is high, an elevation certificate can also help you prove that your land is high enough that it should be classified as a lower-risk flood zone. For examples, see the FEMA graphic below (from the Homeowner’s Guide To Elevation Certificates):Įlevation Certificate (EC): An elevation certificate determines the elevation of your structure (the lowest floor) in relation to the base flood elevation, the benchmark flood height used on Flood Insurance Rate Maps (see above for more information about base flood elevation). The further the structure is below the BFE, the higher its rates will be. If the structure is below the BFE, particularly if it has a below-grade (below ground) crawl space or basement, the risk of flooding for that structure is high and flood insurance rates will be accordingly high. If the structure is elevated above the BFE, it has a low risk of flooding and will receive lower flood insurance rates. The BFE is used to determine the risk of flooding for each structure in A- and V-zones by comparing the BFE to the elevation of the lowest floor of the structure. For example, “EL 3” means the base flood elevation is 3 feet. Underneath each A- or V-zone designation the BFE will be marked as “EL #”, where # is a number of feet that varies by location. The BFE is expressed on a flood map as a number of feet. The BFE is identified in the Special Flood Hazard Area, made up of A- and V-zones. Base Flood Elevation (BFE): The expected height of water during a flood that has a 1% chance of occurring in any given year.

The layers are read-only and can be shared among multiple containers. Each layer represents a change made to the image. The Docker image file is composed of image layers to keep the file size small. In contrast, you create Docker containers directly from the Docker image file. You have to place the Dockerfile along with all associated libraries and dependencies in a folder to build the image. The Dockerfile contains all the instructions to build the image. You create a Docker image from a Dockerfile, a human-readable text file similar to a configuration file. Read about Kubernetes » How Docker images workĪ Docker image, or container image, is a standalone, executable file used to create a container. Kubernetes manages multiple machines, known as a cluster, within the context of container operations. This helps whether your machines are on premises or in the cloud. To deploy and scale a set of containers to communicate effectively across different machines or virtual machines, you need a container orchestration platform like Kubernetes. The engine runs multiple containers depending on the underlying resources available. This container runtime runs on the engine on a server, machine, or cloud instance. PlayerFab (former DVDFab Media Player) is a media player software. It was released commercially in the United States on March 21, 2004, as a CD single, digital download, and 7-inch single. "Burn" was sent to US rhythmic contemporary and urban contemporary radio stations on March 1, 2004. However, the favorable response to the song led to a change "Yeah!" was the lead single and "Burn" was set as its follow-up. "Yeah!", which was intended as a promotional song and a teaser for Usher's fans, was released to street DJs and mixtapes. Until "Yeah!" was leaked, "Burn" was chosen as the official first single from Confessions. Usher was doubtful if the former was the right choice, after he wanted an R&B record. Reid was considering whether "Yeah!" would be released then, being as they also had "Burn". Label personnel were undecided as to what to consider as the lead single. That's when I came in." They worked on few more tracks, including "Red Light", which was not included in the first release of the album, and "Yeah!", which features Ludacris and Lil Jon. They had 'Burn,' 'Burn' was hot, but they needed that first powerful monster. Usher went back to the studio and collaborated with Lil Jon, who said, "He needed a single. After he and the company's then-president Antonio "LA" Reid listened to the songs, they felt the album needed a first single and that they needed to create one or two more songs, which caused the album's release to be postponed. Usher submitted the album to his label Arista Records after he felt it was completed. That's a song right there", and started writing. They said, "Yo, you gotta let that burn . At that time, Usher's two-year relationship with TLC's Chilli was flaming out. During an early session for the album, Dupri and Cox talked about a situation which later became "Burn". Dupri contacted his frequent collaborator Bryan-Michael Cox, who had also made hits like the 2001 single " U Got It Bad" for Usher. Kelly, among others, to work on his fourth studio album, Confessions (2004). Usher again enlisted record-producer Jermaine Dupri, who had collaborated on his two previous albums, along with The Neptunes and R. When Usher planned to make a new record after his third album, 8701 (2001), he decided to not branch out much with collaborators and continue building music with his previous producers. This song won the 2005 Kids' Choice Award for Favorite Song. In 2009, it was named the 21st most successful song of the 2000s on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. The song was well received by critics and garnered award nominations. "Burn" was certified platinum in Australia and United States and gold in New Zealand. Both singles gave Usher nineteen consecutive weeks at the top spot, longer than any solo artist of the Hot 100 era. "Burn" topped various charts around the world, including the US Billboard Hot 100 for eight non-consecutive weeks it succeeded "Yeah!" at number one. "Burn" was eventually released as the second single from the album on March 21, 2004. A downtempo track about the breakup of a relationship, it was originally planned as the album's lead single, but "Burn" was pushed back after favorable responses for the song " Yeah!". The song was produced by Dupri and Cox for Usher's fourth studio album, Confessions (2004). I was like, 'Yes! I remembered it.' As soon as I got to the studio I laid it down." Burn" is a song by American R&B singer Usher, which he wrote with American songwriters Jermaine Dupri and Bryan-Michael Cox. I woke up the next morning and I remembered it. I couldn't record it so I had to memorize it, and by the time I got to the PCH, I had memorized the whole song. Then I stopped at the light right in front of the Beverly Center, and I got the line, 'Hand in hand in the Beverly Center not giving a damn who sees me.' Every time she'd call my phone I'd tell her I'm working. I was thinking about a girl in Atlanta, and what she would think if I'm in LA doing what I'm doing. 'Every time I was in LA,' that's the first line that came to me because I was in LA. As I was driving down Melrose I'm listening to the music and I'm writing the lyrics as I'm driving. I felt pressure, like I wasn't going to write something good while we were there. We were worried that if we take the Usher record to LA, we'd have the wrong vibe. I think it's because I was paranoid because we were doing the record in LA. I came came up with the hook and me and Bryan Michael Cox were going back and forth. In an Instagram Live, Dupri told the story: "I did the track first, and then everybody that was around us, I just kept hearing these stories about being 'all bad.' That's something Skeeter Rock used to say: 'You all bad.' It was a phrase about having extra girls, having all this on the side. The song was titled "All Bad," but on the album was renamed "Confessions" to follow the theme. The song was written and produced by Jermaine Dupri and Bryan Michael Cox. |
